So the answer is get an 4 or 5 channel amp? The new rear speakers are 60 RMS, 120 Peak. I dont know what Ohm those stock speakers are but they have light magnets, compared to whats being installed ( a 4 ohm speaker). The left stock rear speaker is louder than this new speaker! This is where my frustration is beginning. I used soldered wire connections from the stock terminal to the speaker wire to the new speaker - an inch of speaker wire from both ends twisted together and then soldered and then covered with black electrical tape.ĭecided to test out this 1 speaker. Via youtube videos confirmed the positive speaker wire terminal is on the right and the negative terminal is on the left. I cut it out, and reused the stock speaker holder, speaker wire and it's harness - I didnt chop this off, as I wanted an OEM appearance. I inspected the stock rear passenger speaker and the paper cone was well past its due date to throw out. Starting with the passenger rear speaker: I started with replacing the rear speakers to get familiar with the door panels and if I botched anything. and I am positive the previous owner or some hostile mechanic stuck a screw driver through the passenger speakers - they are horrible at high volume, weak at low volume, to the point I had to arrange the balance to driver's front speaker only.
